Yesterday Hung, Jayen & I started work on UNSW’s code base for the 2010 Robocup competition, and ended up with something quite neat that we didn’t have before. The Nao runs a piece of software from Aldebaran called ‘NaoQi’, which provides an abstraction layer over the Robot’s hardware, and also some sort of inter-process communication [...]
Jayen and I put this article together this morning for ‘Beta’. CSESoc’s weekly student newsletter.
Jeff Arnold, creator of Ksplice, presented a talk this year at linux.conf.au, the annual Australasian Linux conference, about his product, the first practical technology for updating the Linux kernel without rebooting.
Jeff Arnold wrote most of Ksplice as part of his [...]

With trivia night #2 over, and the AGM held last week, it’s time to vote in a new exec!
I’d like to thank everyone who voted me in as 1st year rep at the start of the year, it’s been a truly amazing experience, and to the rest of the outgoing exec, especially Steve & Cmac, [...]
It’s been a while. Not all that much to report.

While every CSE student at unsw has some webspace for their personal homepage, not many of them are particularly interesting. After a bit of browsing these are the ones I’ve decided are pretty cool, Kudos to you guys.

For anyone interested the Python code I used to generate my grammar files from jpg’s [...]

dgcl807 → davidc
What does this mean for you?, it means use davidc [at] cse for email, ~davidc for this page, and ~davidc/connect_four for hours of fun. My old username will remain aliased so it won’t stop working. Thanks SS for fixing this up
Lately I’ve been thinking a bit about which subjects I’d like to do after first year, so this evening I constructed an enormous list of would-do subjects from the UNSW handbook, and eventually came up with this plan for my degree. Unfortunately it was impossible to fit everything, this plan is by no means [...]
